Nathan Reese Maher
BIO
I was born in Des Moines and raised in West Burlington, IA.  Ever since I picked up a pen, I would write stories. Growing up, I attended several writing conferences and workshops with intent of honing my skill.  I graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in English Literature with emphasis in classics and creative writing.  January 2011, I self-published my first novel and have been publishing ever since.  I’ve written and published four tabletop role-playing games, using crowd funded sites such as Kickstarter in order to purchase artwork, layout and editing services; having raised over $13,500 from generous backers.  Just recently, I have started offering editing and writing services.  In my spare time, I like to read, play video games and tabletop RPGs; dance ballet; play board games; feed my Netflix addict; watch movies; attending fantasy, sci-fi, anime, literary and comic book conventions; and spend time with friends.

“Lights Out – The Roleplaying Game”

No school. No parents. No rules.  All the parents are gone, the electricity is out and you have amazing superpowers.  Build a character, grab some friends and build a clubhouse to help defend against hungry monsters, mischievous faeries, and frightening spooks!  Brave your own adventures with a tabletop role-playing game inspired by the “Lights Out” post-apocalyptic chapter book series.  Do you have what it takes to survive the night?

“Lights Out - Book 1”
No school.  No parents. No rules.  All the adults from Applewood have disappeared, kids have strange abilities and worse – the electricity is out.  It’s lights out, and Shelly Wynn – along with her friends – must survive the creatures that go bump in the night.  As her world falls apart, Shelly finds that the person who bullied her through grade school is the one who needs her the most.
“Lights Out” is a post-apocalyptic children’s chapter series with superpowers.

“Lights Out – Book 2”
No school.  No parents. No rules.  Shelly discovers there is a downside to patches and worse, it’s harming Lydia.  After learning there are other monsters that come out at night, Shelly must find Lydia before something else does.
“Lights Out” is a post-apocalyptic children’s chapter series with superpowers.

“Spooks! Welcome to the Great Beyond”
Congratulations! You’re dead and the afterlife isn’t what you thought.  Play as the recently departed in a troubled Hereafter. Be forewarned, there is a war being fought in the shadows between the Temple of Osiris and the Temple of Set.  They are playing for keeps and no soul is safe.  Do you think you have what it takes to tackle the Great Beyond?
“Spooks! Welcome to the Great Beyond” is a tabletop role-playing game set in the afterlife.

“Mortal Intrusion”
For thousands of years, the dead have invaded the living.  Now, it’s our turn! The “Mortal Intrusion” is the first expansion to “Spooks! Welcome to the Great Beyond”.  Play as divergents, mortals with extraordinary powers who – through force or will – must face against secret organizations, monsters, faeries, the otherworldly and the undead.  Every spook has a story, and the “Mortal Intrusion”, now it’s time to play a living character until death inevitably claims them.
“Mortal Intrusion” is a tabletop role-playing game that expands “Spooks! Welcome to the Great Beyond” with new content.

“Secrets of the CitySpire, Book 1 – A Familiar Love Song”
“All is as if the world did cease to exist.  The city’s monuments go unseen, its past unheard, and its culture slowly fading into the dismal sea.”
Samuel Bell wakes to an empty city with no memory.  He walks the barren streets as he’s haunted by phantoms of an unknown past.  As he meets others who shares his plight, they must work together to discover what brought them to this vacant city-isle. However, there is something in the shadows, a creature who stalks them from the dark.  Can Samuel and his friends survive its machinations?  And will they able to persevere when they uncover the secret of the CitySpire.
“Secrets of the CitySpire” is a Gothic sci-fi novel dubbed, a modernization of Shakespeare’s The Tempest and heavily inspired by the movie “Blade Runner”.

“Rubberband Lazer – Or, The Adventures of Casey Norider and Jaq Synergy”
Sheriff Casey Norider and his trusty munchkin navigator have been protecting the galaxy with one pun at a time.  When a special mission from the Emperor turns into a strong willed cadet, their number (and adventures) turn a little odd.  Witches, faeries, and a whole lot of sheep, “Rubberband Lazer” is a Space Western Comedy of epic proportions.
“Rubberband Lazer” is inspired by the song performed by Klaus Nomi and written by Joey Arias and Anthony Frere of the same name.  Published with permission of the Klaus Nomi estate.

Book Review Day: Fatal Obession

Hi Everyone, sorry for the short delay in posts. My computer decided to take a break, and I finally got it back. Just in time too!
While I loved the romance, and vivid picture this book painted for me, it felt totally predictable! There is no mystery as to what you are getting into, the title gives it all away. Totally worth the read if you are really into classic murder mysteries. And as I said the romance is HOT! I just wanted a few new twists. Something unexpected!
I did like how I could instantly picture the characters and the small town setting. This was a nice, quick read as well. Completely worth a few hours in a chair, with some coffee, to read cover to cover!
